Dear Friends of Sharon Curry,

My name is Michael Weller. I serve as the PCUSA Regional Liaison for the Horn of Africa. It is a great joy to have Sharon serving in Ethiopia as a PCUSA mission volunteer. She brings many gifts and talents for service in Dembi Dollo. Sharon has provided me with your email address and I am taking this opportunity to express my appreciation for your prayerful support of Sharon during this year of mission service in Ethiopia. More importantly, I would like to express the deep and heart-felt appreciation of our partners, and Sharon’s hosts, the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus, Western Wollega Bethel Synod, and the Berhane Yesus Elementary School. They are grateful for Sharon’s willingness to share her gifts for ministry in teaching the children of Dembi Dollo. 

I am just returning to Addis Ababa after accompanying Sharon to Dembi Dollo. She is presently experiencing a welcome to a new community in a place where she does not speak the local language (yet) or have anything that was familiar to her previous experience. There are some similarities but this is different. Currently Dembi Dollo does not have good communication by phone or email.
