ST. PHILIP PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

FOUNDATION FUNDS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

What

St. Philip’s Foundation Funds has a Scholarship Fund that is used to provide a gift of money for post-high school continuing education. The scholarships will be a gift from the church to the awardee(s) in the amount of $500.

Who

The scholarship is for church members who are continuing their formal education beyond high school by attending an accredited college or a licensed trade school. Church members may apply for and receive more than one scholarship, but only once every 12 months.

How

The administration of the scholarship program is handled by a sub-team of the Foundation Funds committee which has no conflict of interest, with assistance from the Pastor and the church office administrator.

Applications for post-high school continuing education scholarships are available in the church office. They are to be filled out by scholarship applicants and returned to the administrator in the church office. As part of the process, applicants will meet with the Foundation Funds scholarship sub-team to discuss their faith journey and hopes and aspirations for the future. This may be done in person or virtually. A church administrator will then send the funds to the school that the awardee will attend when needed.

When

Applications for continuing education are due at least two months before instruction begins.
